What Is a Partial Vehicle Wrap

Partial wraps have provided an effective way to give a personalized appearance to your vehicle or display your brand. While full wraps involve applying vinyl film onto your whole vehicle, partial wraps provide a more cost-effective way to improve your marketing or give your ride a unique look.

So What is a Partial Vehicle Wrap Versus a Full Wrap?

A partial wrap involves installing vinyl material onto your vehicle’s hood, roof, doors, etc. A partial wrap is different from a full wrap as it typically covers about 25 to 75 percent of your vehicle rather than the entire vehicle. Partial wraps are an effective way to give your ride a custom look or advertise your business.

What are the Benefits of Partial Vehicle Wraps?

Cost-Effectiveness:

Partial wraps require less material and installation time than a full wrap, resulting in a lower cost. While a full wrap can range on average of $2,000 to $6,000, a partial vehicle wrap can be as low as $350 to $2,500, depending on the vehicle and percentage of the vehicle being wrapped. Partial vehicle wraps are an effective way to display your brand or customize your vehicle for less investment than a full car wrap.

Customization:

Partial car wraps allow you to fully customize your vehicle without breaking the bank. Whether you need a logo for your commercial vehicle, or a unique design for your car, partial wraps are an effective way to give your vehicle a customized look.

Partial Wrap Installation Process:

Design Consultation: Before the installation process, you and your vehicle wrap team will discuss the choice of graphics, colors, or placement you want for your partial vehicle wrap.

Prepping Your Vehicle:
Your vehicle is thoroughly washed, inspected for any imperfections, and treated with commercial-grade cleansers to ensure your vehicle is ready for a vinyl wrap installation.

Vinyl Preparation:
Your vehicle wrap installer will prepare the vinyl sheets for proper application. This may involve cutting the vinyl into sections and applying a protective laminate layer.

Installation:
First, each section of the vinyl is carefully positioned onto your vehicle. Next, a solution such as alcohol or water is applied to ensure proper adhesion. After this, a squeegee is used to smooth out any air bubbles. The final step involves trimming any excess vinyl to give your partial wrap a clean finish.

Post-Installation Treatment:
After applying the partial wrap, a heat gun or torch is applied to the vinyl to enhance adhesion. After this, your vehicle will need to sit indoors for a certain amount of time to allow the vinyl to cure completely.

Final Approval:
Your vehicle wrap installer will inspect your partial wrap for any imperfections. A final inspection is important to ensure the partial wrap meets the customer’s expectations and quality standards. Once you give your final approval, your partial wrap installation is complete!
